Photos & Graphics of H.M.S. Hood
The Percival Photo Collection
Updated 07-May-2014

The following photographs were sent in to the site by Hood veteran Melville Percival. He served in Hood from roughly 1938 to 1939. Some of these photos actually pre-date his time in Hood, and were likely bought from the ship's bookstall or acquired from shipmates. Others date specifically from his time aboard. Nearly all are of Hood's service in the Mediterranean.

Important Notice: These photos may not be republished or reposted elsewhere in any format without the express permission of Melville Percival.

Above and Below- This and the following two photos show Repulse as she leaves the fleet to pay off. Her present commission is ending and she and her crew are bound for the UK for maintenance and reassignment. Note the extremely long paying off pendant (as long as Repulse herself).
