H.M.S. Hood Today - Scale Models & Miniatures of Hood
Colin Vass's Scratch-built 1/200 Scale "1941" Hood
Updated 30-Nov-2008
The model shown here was built by Mr Colin Vass of the H.M.S. Hood Association. Colin is a true master model builder. He is renowned for his miniatures- this Hood as well as same scale renditions of Bismarck and Prince of Wales are all on display at the Portsmouth Naval Museum's Lewin Gallery. Colin builds and repairs models for the museum.
Colin has also built a same-scale 1920 version of Hood, as well as two 1/400 scale models (one of Hood and one of Bismarck) to Channel 4's 2001 expedition to locate and film Hood and Bismarck.
