Biographical Information: "Jimmy", as he was known to his family, was the son of James and Margaret Wallace, of Sunderland, County Durham. After leaving school, he moved to Edinburgh to live with one of his sisters. He took a job as a page boy in a cinema in Gorgie Road. He later moved to Slough, and took a job as a cabinet maker. In 1936, he and nine other friends decided to join the military. Jimmy chose the Navy and signed on for 12 years. His first and only ship was H.M.S.
Hood.
Jimmy was taking school courses and was also planning on a further 10 year enlistment when Hood made her final sailing. He was 23 years old at the time of his loss. We have no additional information.
