Biographical Information: William was born on 20 February 1918 in Carsbrook, Newfoundland to Naaman and Caroline Snooks. The family later lived in Cox Cove, Bay of Islands, Newfoundland. He was a member of the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit (NOFU No. 0410) and was later transferred to the Royal Navy. Hood is believed to have been his only ship. He was 23 years old at the time of his loss. We have no additional information.
