Biographical Information: George was the husband of Rosemary Horton, of St. Austell, Cornwall. He was the son of George and Kate Horton.

George entered the Royal Navy in the late 1920s. He subsequently served in the following ships/establishments:
Victory (Jan 1929 - Jul 1930), Courageous (Jul 1930 - Jan 1931), Tiger (Jan - May 1931), Vivid (May - Sept 1931), Broke (Sept 1931 - Nov 1933), Castor (Nov 1933 - Apr 1934), Barham (Apr 1934 - Aug 1935), Royal Sovereign (Aug 1935 - Jan 1936), Rodney (Jan 1936 - Aug 1938), Drake (Aug - Oct 1938), Ramillies (Oct 1938 - Jan 1939), Drake (Jan - May 1939),
Hood (May 1939 - Apr 1940), Renown (Apr - Aug 1940, with a temporary loan to Warspite that April) and lastly to Hood (Aug 1940 until the end).

His rank is recorded as "Petty Officer Steward" but his family has 1942 documentation proving his rank was actually Chief Petty Officer. He was 31 years old at the time of his loss. We have no additional information.
