Biographical Information: Samuel was the son of Octave and Mary Gaudet, of Stephenville, Newfoundland. He was a member of the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit (NOFU No. 0421) and was later transferred to the Royal Navy. Hood is believed to have been his only ship. He was the second cousin of Joseph and William Gallant, both of whom were also lost in the sinking. Samuel was about 20 years old at the time of his loss. We have no additional information.
