Biographical Information: Ernest was born and raised in Wakefield, one of seven children (5 boys and 2 girls) in his family. He was the youngest of the boys.

He was engaged to Edith Stacey of Outwood, West Yorkshire, but was lost in action before they could wed. We have no additional information.
